What changed in Vidu Q4
Vidu Q3 Pro, announced on 30 January 2026, was the first Vidu model to generate up to 16 seconds of 1080p video with native dialogue, sound effects and music in one pass. Q4 Preview keeps the 16 second ceiling and native audio, and adds 4K and 2K output, 10-bit color, up to 15 image references and 3 voice references, and a stronger focus on acting: facial expression, emotion, body movement and voice in sync.
What Vidu Q4 means for short-form marketers
Most AI video models are judged on cinematic shots. Short-form is judged on faces: a creator talking to camera, a reaction, a product held up with a line delivered over it. Q4 is explicitly tuned for that, coordinating expression, emotion, movement and voice, and the 3 voice references mean you can keep the same voice across a whole series rather than rolling a new one each time.
The missing text-to-video mode is less of a limit than it sounds for brands. You almost always start from a real product shot or an approved character image anyway, and reference-to-video with up to 15 images is exactly how you keep packaging, logos and a recurring character consistent across a week of posts.
Treat 4K as a nice-to-have: TikTok, Reels and Shorts compress hard, and 1080p is plenty for vertical feeds. The real decision is cost per usable clip, so test at 720p or 1080p before budgeting at 4K.
